A House of Words
Marriages aren't destroyed overnight. They're eroded — through language, unchecked influence, and misaligned identity. April Mbakop helps women rebuild from the root.
The quiet crisis
Women are given endless advice, yet very little formation — encouraged to speak loudly and pursue independence at all costs, while quietly grieving connection, partnership, and peace in the home.
Meet April
April Mbakop is a wife, mother, and relationship coach devoted to helping women build marriages that are strong, enduring, and anchored in truth — not trends. Married 27 years, she works one-to-one with women navigating marriage, identity, and loneliness.
Her work centers on a belief: marriages are eroded through language, unchecked influence, and misaligned identity. She teaches women to rebuild from the root — starting with who they are before God, how they speak, who they allow to shape them, and how they show up daily in covenant.
The House of Words Framework
01
Who you are before God - established before you ever respond to who you are to anyone else. Formation, not performance.
02
Marriages erode through words. Learn to speak in a way that builds the home rather than quietly dismantling it.
03
Who you allow to shape you shapes your marriage. Choose counsel that anchors you in truth, not trends.
The Book
April's House of Words framework integrates faith, disciplined self-examination, and practical application — moving women from striving to steadiness. Read the work that started it all.

Girl! Your challenge was fire! Gave him an unexpected compliment - it worked wonders. His whole face softened. He hugged me on his own, and held on. It had been a while. The little things, I tell ya!

I took your idea of leaving a little note for my husband, tucked into his lunchbox. When he came home he hugged me so tight and said it made his whole day. How little these efforts are, but how huge the results.

Last week I took your advice about praising my husband more often. He lit up like I hadn't seen in a minute and even offered to cook dinner! It's amazing how such a small shift brought us closer.

I realized through your program that this season, as painful as it is, is for me to transform. Rom 12:2. Whether or not my husband changes, this work makes me a better wife, mother, and woman of faith.

Last night I suggested we put our phones away at dinner and just talk, like you said. At first it was awkward, then we started laughing and reminiscing. We sat there for two hours. It had been ages.

My husband and I started praying together again, like you suggested, and last night he prayed over me for the first time in years. It's like God is rebuilding us from the ground up.
